In this episode of Just Shoot Me, titled "Finch and the Fighter," Maya faces a challenge when her personal trainer's macho attitude starts to put a strain on their friendship. Meanwhile, Jack rekindles an old rivalry with a fellow men's magazine publisher, and Finch gets himself into a sticky situation when he accidentally ends up at a high society event with Nina.

The episode begins with Maya working out with her personal trainer, Chris. While Chris is tough and demanding during their workouts, Maya enjoys the results and the close bond they share. However, things start to get a bit complicated when Chris begins to overstep his boundaries and impose his macho worldview onto Maya. He repeatedly makes sexist comments and tries to convince Maya to give up her feminist ideals, causing tension between the two. Maya tries to confront him, but ruffles his feathers and causes him to storm out of their workout.

Meanwhile, Jack finds out that his old nemesis, Harold, is in town. Harold is the publisher of a rival men's magazine, and he and Jack have a long-standing rivalry that includes pranks and insults. Despite Nina's protests, Jack is determined to outdo Harold at a charity fundraiser that both he and Harold will be attending. He enlists Finch's help in devising a plan that involves a boxing match, and the two hatch a scheme to humiliate Harold in front of his peers.

While Jack and Finch are scheming, Nina drags Finch along to a high society charity event. Finch is reluctant to go, but Nina promises him that it will be worth it. However, things take a turn for the worse when Finch accidentally spills wine on a wealthy socialite's dress. Desperate to make amends, Finch tries to prove his worth to the socialite by pretending to be a high society insider. As he struggles to maintain his composure and avoid revealing his true identity, he bumps into Nina, who is appalled to find him at the event.

As the fundraiser gets underway, Maya tries to avoid Chris but ends up face-to-face with him in the ring. Chris challenges her to a boxing match, convinced that he can beat her despite her feminist ideals. Maya accepts the challenge, and the two quickly get into a fierce fight. Maya finally defeats Chris and declares that winning isn't just about physical strength, but about inner strength and self-respect.

Jack's plan to humiliate Harold backfires when Harold reveals that he has actually been conducting a successful business partnership with Nina behind Jack's back. The two men stare each other down, but their rivalry seems somewhat deflated by the revelation. Meanwhile, Finch's lies catch up with him when he is humiliated in front of the socialite and forced to admit that he is not the high society insider he pretended to be. Despite the setbacks, Maya, Jack, and Finch learn valuable lessons about friendship, rivalry, and respect.

In the end, Maya and Chris patch up their friendship, while Jack and Harold agree to put their rivalry aside to work together. Finch reflects on his embarrassing experience and vows to be true to himself in the future. With its mix of humor, heart, and social commentary, "Finch and the Fighter" is a standout episode in the fifth season of Just Shoot Me.
