Mike Baxter is back to remind us all of the life lessons he has learned as he tackles the struggles of raising his daughters, being a grandpa, and running his outdoor sporting goods store in the show Last Man Standing. In episode 15, "Butterfly Effect," we see how one small decision can spiral out of control and affect the lives of everyone around us.
As the episode begins, Mike is visited by his friend Chuck, who is in a panic after accidentally hitting a butterfly on his way to Mike's store. Chuck is convinced that he has caused a catastrophic ripple effect and that his one small action will have disastrous consequences for everyone around him.
Mike, being the level-headed guy that he is, tries to reassure Chuck that he's overreacting and that one small action can't possibly have such a huge impact. But as the day goes on, Mike starts to see just how much of an impact one small decision can have.
Kristin, Mike's oldest daughter, is dealing with her own set of problems as she tries to navigate her new job as the manager of Mike's store. She's feeling overwhelmed and is struggling to find her footing. Meanwhile, her husband Ryan is dealing with his own insecurities as he starts to feel like he's not pulling his weight at home.
As if that wasn't enough, the entire family is thrown for a loop when Vanessa, Mike's wife, suddenly announces that she wants to adopt a child. Mike is hesitant about the idea, but eventually comes around and the family starts the adoption process.
But just as things seem to be coming together, Chuck's fears start to become a reality. One small decision sets off a chain reaction that puts everyone's lives in danger. It's up to Mike to save the day and set everything right.
