Lockup Extended Stay: Louisville

Add to Watchlist

Lockup Extended Stay: Louisville is part of MSNBC's Lockup series, which follows a camera crew going into prisons or jails around the world and filming the inmates and staff in their everyday life. Louisville Metro Department of Corrections is the focus of this special.

The film crew goes inside this jail, which monitors the inmates through a camera system due to the lack of being able to have officers in each pod 24 hours a day. This can turn out to end badly in some situations, such as medical emergencies, or fights breaking out between the inmates.

The inmates share stories of how they wound up in jail, what led them to their life of crime, or how one mistake landed them inside the jail. Inmates also talk about how they will change their lives around if they are getting out, or how they plan to deal with the long stay, either in the jail, or awaiting to be transferred to a prison.
