In the Lone Star State of Texas, being a game warden isn't a job, it's a way of life. In season 6 episode 11 of Lone Star Law titled "Old Warrants Die Hard," viewers will join the Texas Game Wardens on their daily mission to protect wildlife and enforce hunting and fishing laws.
The episode begins with Game Warden Aaron Sims patrolling the Rio Grande River, a popular spot for illegal crossings from Mexico. Sims is on the lookout for any suspicious activity and to ensure that boaters follow the safety rules. While on patrol, he comes across a group of duck hunters who are not following the regulations. After inspecting their boats, he finds out that one of the hunters has a warrant for unpaid fines. The hunter is taken into custody, and the other hunters are issued tickets for their violations.
Next, we follow Game Warden Eddins as she responds to reports of a dangerous wild hog in a residential area. The hog has been causing damage to property, and Eddins knows it could pose a threat to public safety. She sets up a trap using corn and logs, hoping to catch the hog before it causes any more damage. After a few days, the trap is successful, and the hog is safely relocated to a new area.
Meanwhile, Game Warden Herchman is on a mission to serve an old warrant for a man who has been avoiding arrest for years. The warrant is for illegally possessing wildlife and baiting doves. After visiting the man's address and finding no sign of him, Herchman starts to search for the man's family members. He eventually tracks down the man's sister, who tells him that her brother is hiding out in a nearby county. With this information, Herchman and his fellow wardens make their way to the county and set up a stakeout. After several hours of waiting, the man is finally caught and taken into custody.
Later, Game Warden Richards receives a call about an injured hawk in a nearby park. When he arrives at the scene, he finds that the hawk is severely injured and needs immediate medical attention. Richards contacts a wildlife rehabilitation center, and they agree to take in the bird. Richards carefully captures the hawk and transports it to the center, where veterinarians begin treatment.
The episode ends with Game Warden Bailey investigating a report of an illegal deer hunt. After interviewing several witnesses and gathering evidence, Bailey is able to identify the suspect and obtain a search warrant for his property. With the help of several other wardens, Bailey conducts a raid on the property and finds illegally taken deer and other wildlife. The suspect is taken into custody, and Bailey and his team head back to the station with their evidence.
