In Lone Star Law season 6 episode 7, titled "Shrimp And Run," we follow the Texas game wardens, who are responsible for policing the state's vast natural resources and wildlife. This documentary-style show takes us along with the wardens as they patrol the land, catch poachers, and enforce the law.
The episode opens with Game Warden Herring patrolling the Gulf of Mexico to keep an eye on shrimpers. The shrimping season is in full swing, and he's on the lookout for anything that might endanger the shrimpers or other boats in the area. It's a dangerous assignment, and Herring knows he needs to be vigilant at all times.
Meanwhile, Game Warden Miller is called to a potentially explosive situation on the Trinity River. A fisherman has reported that a group of men he knows are illegally fishing with dynamite. Miller and his team race to apprehend the criminals and put a stop to this dangerous activity.
Elsewhere, Game Warden Roraback is on the trail of two men who have been hunting without the proper permits. He tracks them down and discovers they have shot a deer illegally. Roraback interviews the suspects and examines the evidence to build a case against them.
As the day progresses, the wardens' tasks become even more challenging. Game Warden Flores is called to help a family who has become stranded on a sandbar in the middle of the river. The rising tide threatens to submerge their vehicle. Flores devises a plan to get them to safety, but it requires her to put herself in harm's way.
The episode then shifts to Game Warden Bailey, who is investigating an injured buck that has taken refuge in a residential area. He must make sure the animal is taken care of properly and safely transported to a wildlife rehabilitation center.
Finally, Game Warden Richards is patrolling the Rio Grande River when he comes across a group of illegal immigrants attempting to cross into the United States. He calls the Border Patrol for backup, and together they must apprehend those who have broken the law.
Throughout "Shrimp And Run," the viewer gets an inside look into the daily life of a game warden, encountering a variety of challenges and dangers that come with the job. This episode showcases the teamwork and expertise required from the wardens to keep the state's natural resources and wildlife safe.
