Jessica & Derek are a couple in search of a new home they can both agree on. Jessica and Derek are not seeing eye to eye on their current house; Jessica wants to renovate their house so they can have more room for their family and to entertain, but Derek wants to move. Then, enters Design and real estate experts Jillian Harris and Todd Talbot with a mission to win over this couple to their side, and convince them to either love or list their home.

Jillian’s grand plan for Jessica & Derek’s current house is to reconfigure the entire main floor and create not only a stunning custom kitchen, dining, and living area, but a spacious and fun rec room as well. With $150,000, Jillian Hus serves up her signature style and creates a design that Jessica will love. She plans to get rid of the old-fashioned and outdated interiors and add a more modern touch.

Todd, on the other hand, is out to prove to Derek that moving is the way to go. He takes the couple on a tour of some brand new houses to demonstrate how outdated their current home is and how far their budget will go to have a brand-new home with all the bells and whistles. He shows them houses that meet all their checklisted needs. But, the challenge for Todd is to present a house that can compete with Jillian’s design.

The couple gives the designers and experts their wishlist and their current house's problems. Jessica & Derek also have some concerns about their children’s bedrooms, as they share a small space and getting bigger. On the other side, they love to entertain guests, but their current house's layout doesn't allow them to host parties of more than 10 people. Jillian and Todd put their decision-making abilities to the test and put in a lot of effort into making their decision-making process easier.

Jillian brings in her contractor partner-in-crime, Justin. While Todd invites the couple to view some of the possible houses in the area. Jess is over the moon when she sees the new design plans, on the other hand, Derek is impressed with the new places Todd has shown them. Jillian's designs, including a rustic and warm atmosphere, make Jess swoon, but Todd finds Derek houses that are modern with sleek and shiny finishes.

With time ticking down for the couple to make a choice, both the designer and the realtor go over and above to convince them. Jillian takes Derek and Jess and shows them how her vision has come to life. Todd takes them over to one of the latest homes for sale. After seeing both renovations and new houses, Jessica & Derek are left with the ultimate decision: to Love It or List It.

With both sides putting forward a compelling argument, Jessica & Derek will have to think long and hard about what they want to do.
