- 4 Seasons
"Mad" is the hit new series based on the hit magazine "Mad" that has been part of American pop culture for four decades. One key theme in this program is the satirical spoofs of movies, television and music. Sometimes some original ideas for small skits are also included to help with the comical atmosphere. Although most of the parodies are very bizzare and do not really make sense in certain ways, "Mad's" concept of nonsense comedy has been part of the success of the magazine and now for the television program for many perpetuate laughs. For the concept spoofs, many times original art is used as a way of not causing copyright infringement for most of the characters portrayed in the show. Sometimes an original concept, by combining two different character genres, creates something very comical. One classic comic strip that has been adapted to this animated program is "Spy vs Spy". In each of the shorts, two spies duke it out and pull off many different pranks on each other. That was one of the original ideas from the magazine that was carried over into the animated series. Given the crazy antics, it is hard to say if a following would come about since the series aired on national television nearly 18 months ago. Viewers can enjoy a half hour of concept nonsense and ridiculous commercial ads that are very bizzare. The creative minds behind this series have made their own original ideas of mocking pop culture in a comedic way. From celebrity crazed animals to other shorts that are too crazy to mention, many will wonder what will come up next in each episode to top the last episode. See what all of the nonsense is all about, one never knows what crazy comical thing they might see next.
