Man v. Food Nation Season 1 Episode 16 Pacific Coast Highway

In Man v. Food Nation season 1 episode 16, viewers follow host Adam Richman as he takes on the Pacific Coast Highway in California. The episode begins with Adam trying his hand at the Big Juan burrito challenge at Juan's Restaurante in Santa Barbara. This gargantuan burrito weighs in at over four pounds and is loaded with rice, beans, and meat. In Malibu, Adam visits Neptune's Net, a seafood joint that's been a staple on the PCH since the 1950s. Here, Adam tackles the Neptune's Challenge, which consists of a massive seafood platter piled high with shrimp, oysters, clam chowder, and more. In fact, the Neptune's Challenge is so difficult that less than 10% of customers who attempt it are able to finish the entire platter in one sitting. Adam is determined to take the challenge head-on, but as he starts to feel the weight of the seafood platter, he quickly realizes that it's going to be a struggle to finish.

As the sun sets over the coast, Adam makes his way to Big Daddy's Fire Grill in San Luis Obispo. Here, he tries the Big Daddy burger, a behemoth of a sandwich that features a half-pound burger patty topped with bacon, pulled pork, onion rings, and BBQ sauce. If that wasn't enough, the burger is also served with a massive pile of sweet potato fries on the side. Adam struggles to finish the burger, noting that it's one of the largest and most intense sandwiches he's ever attempted.

Finally, Adam heads to Santa Cruz to take on the legendary Double Barrel Burger at Betty's Burgers. This massive burger features not one, but two 1/3 lb. beef patties, as well as bacon, cheese, avocado, and all the fixings. Adam is excited to try the Double Barrel Burger, but as he takes a massive bite, he realizes that it's going to be a tough challenge to conquer.

Throughout the episode, viewers also get a chance to meet some of the locals who make the Pacific Coast Highway such a unique and special place. From fishermen to surfers, each person Adam meets has their own story to share about life on the PCH.
