In this episode of Man v. Food Nation, host Adam Richman travels to the beautiful Florida Keys to explore the local cuisine and take on some of the region's most daunting food challenges.
Richman begins his journey at Lorelei Restaurant and Cabana Bar, where he tries out their famous "Shark Bite" cocktail and indulges in a fresh seafood feast. He heads out to sea with Captain Dave Sloan for some fishing, and then brings his catch back to the restaurant's kitchen to cook up a delicious meal.
Next, Richman hops on his motorcycle and heads to B.O.'s Fish Wagon, a local institution that serves up some of the best fish sandwiches in the Keys. He meets up with owners Natalie and Buddy Owen, who share the secret behind their mouthwatering dishes.
Down the road, Richman stops at the Hogfish Bar and Grill to sample their famous smoked fish dip and colossal pile of Hogfish nachos. He meets with chef Bill Hunn and learns about the local fishing culture that has made the Hogfish a beloved spot for both locals and tourists.
Richman then takes on a food challenge at Sparky's Landing, where he attempts to finish a two-pound grilled cheese sandwich made with seven types of cheese and loaded with bacon and chili. He gives it his all, but with only 30 minutes to complete the task, it proves to be quite the challenge.
Finally, Richman stops at the Hurricane Grill and Wings to try out their infamous "Category 5" hurricane sauce and take on their spicy wing challenge. He chats with local firefighter Scott Norris, who holds the record for the fastest time completing the challenge, and then straps on his gloves for the fiery battle ahead.
Throughout the episode, Richman showcases the incredible food and culture of the Florida Keys, while testing his own limits with some of the most daring food challenges the region has to offer.
