As the passengers of Flight 828 try to settle back into a sense of normalcy, the unexplainable circumstances surrounding their disappearance continue to haunt them. In season 1 episode 3, “Turbulence,” the stakes are raised as a new mystery emerges.

The episode opens with Ben Stone (played by Josh Dallas) experiencing a vivid vision while driving. It’s a vision of turbulence on a plane, but this time it’s not his plane. Meanwhile, Jared (played by J.R. Ramirez) is still investigating the whereabouts of the missing passengers’ luggage. He finds two bags that were never claimed, belonging to Grace and Olive Stone, and they happen to be stuffed with evidence that could be the key to unlocking the mystery of what happened on Flight 828.

Tensions rise as Ben and Michaela (played by Melissa Roxburgh) disagree about whether or not to trust the callings they’ve been receiving. Ben is convinced they are a message from a higher power, while Michaela struggles to make sense of the chaos they seem to cause. To make matters worse, a journalist named Lourdes (played by Victoria Cartagena) reaches out to Ben with a tantalizing offer: she wants to interview him and the other passengers of Flight 828 about their experience.

As the story unfolds, the focus shifts to the plane of Ben’s vision, which turns out to be a commercial flight with a troubled passenger on board. As the turbulence intensifies, the situation quickly spirals out of control. With no explanation for what’s happening, Michaela and Ben are forced to put their faith in the calling and intervene to prevent disaster.

Meanwhile, Jared and Saanvi (played by Parveen Kaur) continue their investigation and discover that Marko Valeriev (played by Kresh Novakovic), the Bulgarian who boarded Flight 828 with a gun, has a connection to someone who has been following the Stone family. This revelation leads them down a dangerous path as they try to uncover the truth behind the mystery of Flight 828.

“Turbulence” is a thrilling episode that showcases the show’s ability to blend supernatural elements with a procedural mystery. It’s a must-see for anyone who loves a good thriller, as the tension builds to a nail-biting climax. The performances are strong across the board, with Josh Dallas and Melissa Roxburgh delivering standout performances as the conflicted, yet determined, Stone siblings.

Overall, “Turbulence” is a standout episode of Manifest that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. With each new revelation, the mystery of Flight 828 becomes more intriguing, leaving viewers eager to see what happens next.
