In "Married...with Children" season 4 episode 16, titled "You Gotta Know When to Fold 'Em (1)," Al Bundy faces a major dilemma when he goes on a business trip to Las Vegas. He meets a beautiful woman named Vanessa and they hit it off immediately. However, before they can take their relationship any further, Al discovers that Vanessa is actually a call girl.
Meanwhile, Peggy and the kids are back at home trying to make it through without Al. Peggy is focused on winning a game show called "A Question of Shoes," which offers a grand prize of a year's worth of shoes. With some help from her kids, Peggy is determined to win, but things don't go exactly as planned.
Back in Las Vegas, Al decides to give into temptation and hires Vanessa for the night. However, things take a disastrous turn when he realizes that he can't afford her services. Desperate for a way out, he ends up getting himself into even more trouble.
Throughout the episode, there are several humorous subplots involving the rest of the Bundy family. Marcy and Steve are also in Las Vegas and are trying to avoid Al at all costs. Bud, who has been left in charge of the house, ends up inviting over a group of rowdy friends for a party. Kelly, as usual, is clueless and mostly concerned with her own appearance.
As always, "Married...with Children" delivers plenty of laughs and cringe-worthy moments in this episode. The plot is fast-paced and chaotic, and the characters are just as dysfunctional as ever. While Al's misadventures in Las Vegas drive the main storyline, the secondary plots involving Peggy, Bud, Kelly, Marcy, and Steve provide plenty of comic relief.
Overall, "You Gotta Know When to Fold 'Em (1)" is a classic episode of "Married...with Children" that is sure to please fans of the show. With its outrageous humor and memorable characters, this episode is a perfect example of why the series is still beloved by audiences today.
