Maude is an American television sitcom that aired in the 1970s. The show was a spinoff of the popular series All in the Family and starred Bea Arthur as Maude Findlay, a liberal and outspoken woman from New York. The show tackled various social issues of the time, including feminism, civil rights, and politics.

In Maude Season 1 Episode 2, titled "Doctor, Doctor," Maude finds out she is pregnant and decides to visit the gynecologist, Dr. Arthur Harmon (Conrad Bain). Maude has never met Dr. Harmon before and is surprised to find out that he is a male doctor. She is skeptical of his ability to understand her concerns as a pregnant woman and wonders if he is qualified to care for her.

Dr. Harmon, on the other hand, is confident in his ability to provide adequate care for Maude. He explains that he has delivered over 200 babies and has worked with many pregnant women. However, Maude is still hesitant and demands to see a female doctor instead.

Dr. Harmon suggests that Maude speak to his wife, a fellow gynecologist, to ease her concerns. Maude agrees, and Dr. Harmon sets up a meeting between Maude and his wife.

Meanwhile, Maude's daughter Carol (Adrienne Barbeau) and her boyfriend, Chris (Rue McClanahan), are trying to find a way to tell Maude that they plan on moving in together. They are afraid of how Maude will react, given her traditional values.

Maude meets with Dr. Harmon's wife, but she still feels uneasy about having a male doctor. She decides to switch to a different female doctor, Dr. Morganstern. Maude is relieved to have found a doctor that she feels comfortable with, but she is surprised to find out that Dr. Morganstern is also pregnant.

Back at home, Carol and Chris finally tell Maude about their plans to move in together. Maude is initially upset, but after talking to Dr. Harmon's wife, she realizes that times have changed, and she needs to be more accepting of new social norms.

In the end, Maude decides to continue seeing Dr. Morganstern for her prenatal care. She also accepts Carol and Chris's decision to move in together and even offers to help them find a new place.

Overall, "Doctor, Doctor" is a funny and heartwarming episode of Maude. The show portrays the struggles of a woman facing an unexpected pregnancy and highlights the importance of having a supportive network of friends and family. The episode also touches on the changing social norms of the 1970s and how difficult it can be for some people to adapt to new ideas.
