The third season of the exhilarating TV show, Mud Men, comes chock-full of exciting adventures and memorable experiences from the past. In episode 2 titled Bristol, the host Johnny Vaughan and mudlark Steve Brooker head to the iconic river town of Bristol to uncover exciting relics from centuries ago.

Bristol was once a bustling hub for commerce and industry in England, and the hosts scour the banks of the River Avon looking for artifacts from the past. Steve is a seasoned mudlark and has been digging up exciting historical finds for over two decades, while Johnny is the comic relief of the show as he adds his humor to the duo's entertaining exploits.

The first stop on their adventure is the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, which spans the Avon Gorge, directly over the ancient river. The bridge was built in the mid-19th century and is an engineering marvel that has earned an international reputation for its beauty and strength. The duo marvels at the impressive feat of engineering and takes in the breathtaking views of the river below.

Next, Johnny and Steve head off to the Port of Bristol. They are on the hunt for a treasure trove of relics left behind by merchants, sailors, and other seafarers who passed through the port over the centuries. Steve uses his expert eye to uncover some incredible finds that help bring to life the city's rich history. The duo discovers various artifacts like clay pipes, bottles, and even a cannon, which gets them both excited about the possibility of finding more significant treasures.

As they continue their excursion, the Mud Men make their way to the renowned Clifton Rocks Railway, an impressive feat of tunnel building constructed in 1893. Steve and Johnny tour the railway, marveling at the engineering expanse, and when they descend down into the tunnel, they discover an even more fascinating underground world. The duo discovers a trove of exciting artifacts, which would have most likely fallen from the pockets of working-class Bristolian commuters, from coins and rings to keys. They take their finds to a local museum for further analysis and meet with a historian to uncover the significance of their discoveries.

The adventurous duo heads off to explore another iconic location, the SS Great Britain, a steamship that revolutionized naval engineering when it was built in 1843. Steve and Johnny take a tour of the famous vessel and discover some surprising pieces of history left behind by passengers. Steve shows Johnny some rusty nails, which are significant as they uncover clues to how the ship was constructed. Johnny finds a letter from a passenger that is unearthed in the ship's archives, which captures the imagination and takes them back to a different time in history.

At the end of their trip, Steve takes Johnny to his favorite location in Bristol, the Riverbank Mudlarks. Here, the duo uncovers a host of exciting finds like clay pipes and buttons. They end their trip on a high note as they scour the riverwide in search of more treasures to bring to the surface. Throughout the entire episode, they are not only on the hunt but also take a deep dive in the past, uncovering the story behind every artifact.
