With the Big Island suffering the worst drought in decades, the clans head north to the Waipio Valley where the animals are more plentiful. Also known as the "Valley of the Kings" because of its royal history, this sacred land is respected and protected by all the hunting clans. The Outsiders try to establish themselves by hunting the Valley of the Kings, but they take a big risk entering the sacred valley as relative newcomers. Scotty and the Spear clan, on the other hand, have been hunting in the valley for generations, but run into more aggravation as one of their two kills mysteriously goes missing. Forever at odds, The Correas and the Rosas meet once again in the jungle. Violence ensues and Pa is injured as a result.

After being separated from their families, two members of the feuding Rosa and Correa clans meet unexpectedly.

The drought forces the animals to look for water elsewhere and the clans must begin utilizing ancient survival tactics to find food.

As warring clans fight, a clan leader seeking redemption is challenged by a band of outlaws, and two outsiders continue to struggle to claim a piece of the jungle for themselves.

The animals stir as the full moon casts light onto the jungle and the hunters follow them into the brush; man and beast are met by ancient spirits that are revived on these full moon nights as all try to survive until the coming sunrise.

In the series premiere, deep-seeded clan conflicts resurface on the Big Island as the annual two month dry period creates major challenges.
