Adam runs away from the school and ends up getting lost in the woods. He encounters a group of animals who seem friendly at first, but soon reveal themselves to be a pack of wolves. The wolves chase Adam through the woods and eventually catch him. Adam convinces the wolves to let him go by telling them that he is part of a pack of humans.

With the help of his new friends, Adam returns to Charles Darwin Middle School just in time to get his inoculation shot. He learns that there was nothing to worry about and that getting inoculated is an important part of staying healthy.
