My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Season 2 Episode 17 A Friend in Deed

Pinkie Pie, the ever-bubbly and energetic pony of Ponyville, receives a new neighbor in the form of Cranky Doodle Donkey. Cranky, however, is a rather grumpy character who wants none of Pinkie's antics. Determined to make him smile and become friends, Pinkie sets out on a mission to make him happy. She tries an array of ideas, from baking a cake to singing a song, but Cranky Doodle Donkey remains unmoved and cranky as ever. Despite his harsh demeanor, Pinkie Pie insists on continuing her efforts to win Cranky over, but things go awry when she accidentally loses his beloved memento, his old phonograph. Pinkie Pie now has to retrieve it before Cranky discovers it missing. As she sets out to find the phonograph, she meets a new pony in town, Cheese Sandwich, who she quickly befriends. Cheese Sandwich, like Pinkie, is a party planner and has been hired by Pinkie's friends to help throw her a party in honor of her helping to organize Winter Wrap Up. Together the two ponies search for the lost phonograph in increasingly absurd situations and comedic scenarios. Meanwhile, as Pinkie and Cheese's quest for the phonograph continues, Cranky Doodle Donkey's grumpiness starts to give way to moments of genuine amusement as Pinkie Pie's relentless energy and optimism slowly start to take hold of him. When Pinkie and Cheese finally find the phonograph and return it to Cranky, they are surprised to find that he has become a different donkey, one that is now happy and appreciative of Pinkie's efforts. The three end up enjoying the Winter Wrap Up party together, laughing and having a good time. In the end, this episode serves as both a lesson about friendship and the transformative power of positivity.
