On January 16th, 1900, Walter S. Boettcher, the 14-year-old son of a prominent Colorado businessman, was abducted from his family's summer home in Evergreen. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of $70,000, which was paid by the boy's father. However, despite the payment, there was no sign of Walter, and his fate remained unknown for over a year. Viewers will learn about the various leads and suspects in the case, as well as the eventual discovery of Walter's body and the trial of his kidnappers.
