Ep 6. Dating Website / Party Planner

Nathan For You is a comedy series that revolves around Nathan Fielder, a business consultant who helps struggling small businesses by offering them unconventional solutions. In the second season, episode six of the show, Nathan explores two businesses; a dating website and a party planner.

The first half of the episode centers around Nathan helping a dating website called "clickconnect.com" gain more users. Nathan's plan involves creating a fake website under the guise of a company called "Private Investigation," which leads unsuspecting clients back to the dating website. His plan also includes creating fake profiles with actors to make the website more appealing, but things quickly go awry when the actors do not present themselves well in the profile pictures.

Nathan also creates a system where an algorithm finds similarities between likeminded individuals on the website and sends them on dates with each other. The dates are filmed, and Nathan offers the daters tips and tricks for a successful date, including telling the women on the date to apply makeup to their armpits to avoid sweating embarrassingly.

The second half of the episode revolves around Nathan assisting a party planner called "Flex Fun Parties." The company specializes in amusement park-themed parties and bounces houses for children. Nathan's plan involves expanding the age range of the customers to include adults, and he suggests that the company hosts a party for senior citizens in a retirement home.

To make the party more interesting, Nathan comes up with a unique idea of playing pranks on the seniors, such as "hiding" one of the senior citizen's walkers and then secretly returning it after a few minutes to create a sense of bewilderment and awe. Though the seniors were good sports and ended up having a great time, Nathan realizes his mistake when he realizes he should have taken into account the possible health risks that come with pranking senior citizens.

Overall, the episode showcases Nathan's passively questionable but often humorous approach in finding solutions, even if they may prove less effective than initially conceived. The two half-hour segments of the episode are well-structured and present unique ideas that showcase Nathan's creative problem solving skills. Nathan For You, season 2 episode 6, was a critically acclaimed success and a fan favorite.
