Ep 1. NYC's Best BBQ

New York Live is a lifestyle show that explores all the best things New York City has to offer. In the first episode of season 1, the hosts are on the hunt for the best BBQ spots in the city.

As the hosts wander through the bustling streets of Manhattan, they start their search at Hill Country Barbecue Market. Hill Country is known for their Texas-style BBQ, which includes brisket and sausage. The hosts are able to talk to the pitmaster and learn about the process of smoking meat. They also sample some of the famous brisket and sausage, which they declare to be delicious.

Next, they head to Hometown Bar-B-Que in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Hometown is known for their unique takes on classic BBQ dishes. The hosts try the beef rib and burnt ends, both of which are cooked to perfection. They also get a chance to chat with the owner, Billy Durney, who shares his passion for cooking and the inspiration behind the restaurant.

The hosts then head to Mighty Quinn's Barbeque in the East Village. Mighty Quinn's is known for their slow-smoked brisket and pulled pork. The hosts try the brisket sandwich and pulled pork sandwich, both of which are topped with homemade pickles and sauce. They also chat with the founder, Micha Magid, who shares his journey from a banker to a BBQ pitmaster.

Last but not least, the hosts visit Blue Smoke in Flatiron. Blue Smoke is known for their classic American BBQ, which includes ribs, pulled pork, and chicken. The hosts try the Big Poppa sandwich, which has pulled pork, brisket, and sausage. They also talk to the chef, Jean-Paul Bourgeois, about his Southern roots and how it correlates with the menu at Blue Smoke.

Throughout the episode, the hosts rave over the BBQ they try and discuss what makes each spot unique. They also give tips on how to order at a BBQ joint and how to fully appreciate the flavors.
