In the episode "Homecoming" of North Woods Law season 7, viewers are taken on another exciting journey through the wilderness of Maine with the dedicated and hardworking wardens who protect the state's natural resources. This episode focuses on the wardens' efforts to ensure safety during the busiest hunting season and the start of the annual moose hunt.

First we are introduced to Warden Kris Maccabe and Warden Sean Fowler, who are assigned to patrol an area known for illegal hunting activity. The wardens soon encounter a group of hunters who don't have the proper licenses and are violating several hunting regulations. After issuing citations and educating the hunters about the importance of following the rules, the wardens set out to find the hunters' illegal tree stand. This leads them on a dangerous pursuit through thick brush and steep terrain, testing their skills and endurance.

Meanwhile, Warden Glen Annis and his canine partner, K9 Stryker, are called to assist in a search and rescue operation for a lost hiker. The hiker has been missing for two days in the dense woods, and with nightfall approaching, the situation is urgent. Glen and Stryker must quickly cover vast amounts of territory in order to find the hiker before it's too late. Along the way, they rely on their quick thinking and expert training to overcome multiple obstacles and setbacks.

Back at the station, Warden Lounder is also dealing with the aftermath of a hunting incident. A woman has accidentally shot her husband while they were hunting together, and Lounder must determine whether it was a simple mistake or a more serious case of negligence. He interviews the couple and attempts to piece together what happened. This stressful situation highlights the dangers of hunting and the importance of safety education.

As the moose hunt gets underway, the wardens are on high alert for any illegal activity or safety concerns. When they receive reports of a group of hunters shooting too close to a populated area, Warden Egan and Warden MacCabe respond quickly to the scene. They find the hunters in question and educate them on the proper protocols for safe and responsible moose hunting.

Throughout the episode there are also several heartwarming scenes that showcase the strong bonds between the wardens and the community they serve. A group of schoolchildren visit the station and meet with Warden Curtis, who teaches them about wildlife and conservation efforts. Later, Warden Pelkey joins a family on a hike so they can learn more about the natural world around them. These moments offer a nice contrast to the high-stakes situations that often drive the show.

Overall, "Homecoming" is a thrilling and engaging episode that showcases the positive impact that wardens have on the natural world and the people who enjoy it. They navigate challenging situations with grace and skill, always putting their own safety and the safety of others first. Whether dealing with accidents, educating the public, or patrolling the backcountry, these wardens are true heroes who work tirelessly to preserve Maine's beautiful wilderness.
