In Once Upon a Time season 1 episode 20, titled "The Stranger," the residents of Storybrooke are introduced to a mysterious newcomer named August W. Booth (played by Eion Bailey), a stranger who seems to have some hidden agenda. Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) is particularly suspicious of him, given her past experience with being lied to and deceived, and her gut feeling tells her that she can't trust August.

Meanwhile, in the fairy tale world, the story of Pinocchio is explored in greater depth, with Geppetto (Tony Amendola) and the Blue Fairy (Keegan Connor Tracy) working to create a wooden boy who can save the realm from a great darkness. However, things don't go according to plan, and Pinocchio (Jakob Davies) ends up making some choices that have devastating consequences for himself and those around him.

As the two storylines begin to interweave, Emma starts to uncover some troubling information about August's past, and she realizes that he may be more connected to the fairy tale world than she initially thought. This prompts her to team up with Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) to try and figure out what August is really after.

As the episode progresses, we see more flashbacks to Pinocchio's story, including his arrival in our world and his eventual encounter with August. We also learn more about August's motivations and the role he plans to play in Storybrooke.

Overall, "The Stranger" is a thrilling and suspenseful episode that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. With its expertly crafted storytelling and impactful plot twists, it's no wonder why Once Upon a Time is such a beloved series among fans of fantasy and fairy tales.
