Ep 13. E 13

The episode begins with the group, Agemaki, Zakuro, Susukihotaru, Riken, and Bonbori and Hozuki, discussing their next course of action after the events of the previous episode. They have been tasked with investigating a new youkai threat which has been terrorizing the local villagers. As they are discussing, Zakuro receives a letter from her father, who warns her that the danger they face may be greater than they imagine and that they must be careful.

The group decides to split up and investigate the village separately. Zakuro and Agemaki go to investigate a suspicious-looking store, thinking it might have something to do with the youkai. After observing the store for a while, they notice that a young girl is being forced to work there against her will. Zakuro and Agemaki decide to free her and take her back to the Spirit Affairs office.

Meanwhile, Susukihotaru and Riken investigate a nearby factory that has been emitting strange smoke. They discover that the factory is producing a new type of gunpowder that can harm youkai. Susukihotaru is shocked by the revelation that humans are now capable of creating weapons that are deadly to her kind.

While this is happening, Bonbori and Hozuki are investigating the village's festival, which is being held near a sacred shrine. They notice that the villagers have all become very hostile towards the shrine, and they suspect that it might be because of the youkai's influence. They sneak into the shrine and find evidence of a dark ritual taking place. They decide to stop the ritual before it's too late.

As the group regroups back at the Spirit Affairs office, they realize that the youkai they are dealing with is not acting alone. Someone has been manipulating it from behind the scenes, and it's up to them to figure out who that person is.

The episode then takes a surprising turn when Zakuro receives a visit from her brother, who she has not seen in a long time. He informs her that their father has been captured and that the person behind the youkai attacks is none other than a powerful politician named Kushimatsu. He has been using youkai to further his political agenda and is planning to eliminate all youkai from Japan.

With this information in hand, the Spirit Affairs office decides to take action and launch a full-scale attack on Kushimatsu's palace. The final battle is intense, and the group has to use all of their skills to defeat Kushimatsu and his army of youkai. In the end, they emerge victorious, but not without some casualties.

The episode ends with the group reflecting on their victory and the sacrifices they had to make. They know that their work is not done and that they will have to face more challenges in the future, but they are ready for whatever comes their way.
