Outlaw is a legal drama television series that premiered on NBC in 2010. The show follows the story of a former Supreme Court justice, Cyrus Garza, who resigns from his position after a controversial ruling and decides to open his law firm. Garza is highly intelligent, well-spoken but also has a rebellious streak, which makes people both love and hate him. The first episode of the show is called "Pilot," and it sets the stage for the rest of the series.

The episode starts with Garza being celebrated as a hero during his speech at a church. He talks about how justice should be served, and everyone is rooting for him. A few hours later, Garza resigns from his judgeship after a decision that causes chaos. He is then met with criticism from journalists and the public, who call him out for just quitting his job. Garza's exit interview is tense as he is not apologetic about his decision to resign.

Soon afterward, he meets a young guy who has had trouble with the law and ends up in jail. The guy, Eddie Franks, is a thief who has been sentenced to ten years in prison for stealing jewelry from a wealthy family's home. Garza is fascinated by Eddie's charm, wit, and street smarts, and he decides to take him on as his protégé.

Garza's decision to represent Eddie leads him to run ads in the local papers and on TV, setting him up as the go-to guy for people seeking justice. As a result, more clients come to his firm.

Garza has a team of lawyers working with him. His team consists of Mereta Stockman, an ambitious attorney who has a Harvard education, and Lucinda Pearl, a legal secretary. Garza's brother, Charles, is also part of the team. Charles is a policeman who has trouble escaping from his sister's shadow, who is also a Supreme Court justice.

To represent Eddie's case in court, Garza has to go up against another prosecutor, who happens to be his former law-school buddy. The prosecutor tries to intimidate Garza, but Garza holds his own and ultimately wins the case.

Garza's victory for Eddie's case makes him a hero in the eyes of the public, and he becomes a media darling. He continues to represent more clients, proving to be a force to be reckoned with.

The episode ends with Garza walking with Charles, who is excited by the case's outcome, meaning that he and Garza's team are ready to take on more cases.

In conclusion, the pilot episode of Outlaw sets up a strong premise for the show. The episode introduces Garza as a man of various talents, including wit, intelligence, and street smarts. Garza's character is also polarizing, making him a compelling protagonist.

The show's legal drama element is well-executed, and seeing the cases that Garza's team takes on sets up an exciting narrative. The show also explores the themes that will recur throughout the show, such as justice, right vs. wrong, and the complex relationships between lawyers, judges, and law enforcement personnel.

Overall, the pilot episode of Outlaw is an excellent start to the series and is sure to hook viewers into watching more.
