When Joshua Binder and his fiancee Keyna Bell purchased their home last year, Joshua decided the focal point of the living room, a large wood-burning fireplace with an enormous hearth, had to be scaled down and converted to gas. He took a sledgehammer to the stone veneers around the fireplace but soon found that replacing and retiling a fireplace and hearth was more complicated than he'd though.
