Paranormal Declassified is a documentary series that aims to explore the paranormal phenomena that many people believe exist but have been kept under wraps by the governments and other institutions. In season 1, episode 4 titled Alien Cover-Up, the team of investigators delves into the possibility of government cover-ups regarding the existence of extraterrestrial life and their contacts with humans.
The episode begins with the team members gathering in their headquarters and discussing the history of sightings of UFOs and aliens. They share stories about eyewitness accounts and government claims, such as the famous Roswell incident in 1947, where the U.S. Army claimed to have recovered the wreckage of a crashed UFO and its occupants. The team talks about how the government has been denying any involvement with aliens or UFOs for years, leading to many conspiracy theories.
To investigate further, the team interviews some of the witnesses who claim to have had encounters with aliens. They present some compelling evidence, which shows that something bizarre has been happening around the world for decades. They also talk to experts in the field of ufology, who explain how the government might be involved in a massive cover-up to prevent public panic and preserve their power.
The team then decides to check out some of the military bases where alleged sightings of alien crafts have occurred. The base commanders refuse to allow them access, giving vague excuses such as "national security" and "ongoing operations." However, the team is not deterred and finds ways to infiltrate the bases and gather evidence on their own.
The footage they capture includes strange lights in the sky and unidentified crafts hovering in certain areas. However, when they approach the areas where they spotted these crafts, they were immediately met with forces from the authorities identifying themselves to be the military. The team tries to argue their case that the authorities cannot deny them access to public spaces unless proper clearance is acquired, but the military did not sway.
The team then interviews former military personnel who claim to have worked on these bases and witnessed firsthand the strange occurrences involving aliens and the military. They report being part of secret missions that involved the capture and retrieval of extraterrestrial artifacts, the autopsy of alien corpses, and the communication with beings from other planets.
However, when the team attempts to verify this information, they are met with more resistance from the government and military. They were even arrested on one occasion. They are able to stay the course and dig up some interesting evidence, in the end presenting a case that suggests that an alien cover-up may be at the very least plausible.
Overall, it is a fascinating episode that takes the viewer on a rollercoaster ride of conspiracy theories and evidence. It leaves the viewer with the consideration that the truth is beyond the grasp of the public, therefore what else remains hidden in plain sight in our world?
