At the hospital, Gwen collapses after drinking her poisoned tea. After the doctors work on saving her, they suspect it is related to a carnival poisoning that happened a few years before and try giving her the antidote for it. It is at this point when Sam arrives to see Jonathan and learns of the poisoning and who Rebecca suspects the culprit is. Tabitha then shows up and points out the bottle that Theresa hid, ultimately causing her to confess to poisoning Gwen. At the Blue Note, Eve and Julian are arguing over Vincent being alive again while Eve gets drunk. When Julian asks how she expects to get her job back at the hospital if all she's doing is drinking, Eve angrily breaks up with him and goes home. Meanwhile, Esme and Spike are enjoying their date at the Blue Note, unaware someone is spying on them. Later, when Spike leaves, that person sneaks up from behind and stabs him. It is at this time when Esme comes across Julian and they decide to share a drink.
