Riddle, Story of Devil, also known under the alternative title of Devil's Riddle, was written by female manga artist Yun Koga, wife of the famous manga artist, Tatsuneko. The story of Riddle Story of Devil, a play on Devil's Trill by Tartini, focuses on a small group of thirteen females from the prestigious Myojo Academy. Of the thirteen, one is just a normal student while the remaining twelve are actually highly trained assassins tasked with eliminating this innocent girl, named Haru. The assassins are promised to be granted any wish they desire upon elimination of Haru, however, upon failing they will be immediately expelled from the academy. Yet, in a powerful turn of events, one of the assassins develops a emotional bond with the hapless Haru and decides that she must protect Haru from the other eleven assassins, vowing to protect her even at the cost of her position and her life.
