Ep 11. Of Ice and Men

The Roseanne season 5 episode "Of Ice and Men" centers around the Conner family's involvement in a local ice-skating competition. Darlene, who is an excellent ice skater, is excited to compete, and has been practicing for weeks with her partner, David. However, when David gets injured right before the competition, Darlene must find a new partner.

Roseanne sees this as an opportunity for her husband Dan to live out his childhood dream of being an ice skater. Despite Dan's reluctance, Roseanne persuades him to partner with Darlene, and before long, the two are practicing together at the local ice rink.

Of course, Dan is not a natural at ice skating, and he struggles to keep up with Darlene's skills. This leads to some tension between the two, as Darlene becomes frustrated with Dan's lack of progress. Meanwhile, Roseanne is dealing with her own issues when her longtime rival in the competition, Nancy, reveals that she is also participating, partnering with her husband Arnie.

Throughout the episode, we see the Conner family supporting Darlene and Dan as they prepare for the big competition. Jackie, in particular, is excited to see Dan on the ice, and she helps him come up with some choreography for the routine.

On the day of the competition, tensions are high as the Conners arrive at the rink. Darlene and Dan are the last to perform, and they put on quite a show. Despite a few mistakes early on, they manage to pull off some impressive moves, and the crowd is cheering them on.

In the end, the judges announce that Nancy and Arnie have won the competition, but Darlene and Dan are thrilled with their performance nonetheless. The episode ends with the Conner family heading home, exhausted but happy after a long day on the ice.
