Ep 1. Kazuma

As the fight draws to a close, Kazuma reveals his motivation for intervening in the conflict. He resents the organization HOLD, which he sees as oppressive and controlling. Kazuma has been searching for a way to escape the wastelands and find a better life, but HOLD has prevented him from doing so. He sees Ayase's research as a way to break free from their control and achieve his goals.

The episode ends with Kazuma being taken into HOLD custody as a result of his actions. It sets up the conflict for the rest of the series, as Kazuma and Ryuhou are revealed to be two powerful Alters on opposite sides of the HOLD/Holy divide.
