The anime is produced by studio Manglobe and consists of 13-episodes. The story of Karneval revolves around the lives of a young boy named Nai and a thief named Gareki. The two meet each other by chance when Gareki is trying to break into a mansion. Nai is found hiding in a box in the mansion and the two end up being chased by the mansion
