Sailor Moon Sub Season 1 Episode 26 Grandpa's Follies

  • October 16, 1995

Grandpa's Follies follows the same beloved characters from the first season of Sailor Moon, as they try to uncover the mystery behind a seaside resort that has suddenly abandoned all its guests. The episode is a stand-alone adventure that manages to stay true to the overall theme of the series, while presenting a self-contained story that will keep the audience engaged.

The story begins with Usagi (Sailor Moon) and her friends, who are on a summer vacation at a beach resort. While taking a walk along the nearby beach, they come across an abandoned hotel, which seems to have been vacated by its occupants in a great hurry. Usagi, always eager to solve a mystery, goes to investigate, but she finds nothing unusual except a few scattered items.

As the girls continue their vacation, they soon run into a group of old men who are rehearsing for a play. The play tells the story of an old grandfather who is seeking his lost love, and the girls are immediately drawn in by his performance. They soon learn that the grandfather is the owner of the resort, who put on the play in order to attract customers, but it had failed. However, the girls are intrigued by the grandfather's story and decide to help him find his lost love.

As the girls dig deeper, they soon discover that the grandfather's lost love is actually a former actress who used to perform at the resort. They decide to go see her and learn more about the story. What they find is a woman living in a run-down apartment and struggling to make ends meet. The girls soon uncover that the woman still loves the grandfather and was forced to leave him for personal reasons.

With the help of the girls, the grandfather and his former love are reunited, and they decide to reopen the resort with a new play. In the end, the resort is filled with happy customers, and everyone involved in the play and the resolution of the mystery feel a sense of closure.

At its heart, Grandpa's Follies is a show about the power of love and the importance of reconnecting with one's past in order to build a better future. It is also a showcase for some fine performances from the main cast, including Usagi, who is not only curious, but also determined to help make the world a better place through her actions. The episode manages to be both entertaining and emotional, with a satisfying resolution that will leave viewers feeling uplifted.
