In season 15 of Saturday Night Live, episode 10 features two well-known entertainment figures for their time. Ed O'Neill is the first host, and Harry Connick Jr. is the musical guest.

Ed is known for his character portrayals in classic TV shows, such as "Married...with Children" and "Modern Family." Before he starts doing skits with the cast, Kevin Nealon does his opening monologue as the cold open for the show. He does a segment called "Mr. Subliminal" where he talks about the holiday season and the commercialism that comes with it.

The first skit is called "The Pat Stevens Show," which is a talk show where guests share their personal stories of overcoming obstacles. Dana Carvey plays Pat Stevens and Ed O'Neill plays a guest. He talks about how he overcame tough times when he was first starting out in show business and go through the highs and lows of his career.

In the next skit, Phil Hartman plays a man who is a member of a gourmet food club. He and his wife host a dinner party and this presents an opportunity for the members of the club to show off their latest creations. Whenever someone tries to compliment his dishes he gets defensive which gives the audience a laugh. Ed O'Neill is also a guest in this skit.

Then there is a skit called "Pumpkin." This one is a Halloween inspired story about a couple who randomly purchase a pumpkin from a vendor on the side of the road. When they get home, the pumpkin comes to life and starts terrorizing them. The couple tries to reason with the pumpkin, but it turns into a physical altercation that leads to a hilarious and unexpected ending.

Next up is "Weekend Update," where Dana Carvey and Dennis Miller deliver news commentary and jokes about current events in the news. The topics they discuss include the start of the war in the Persian Gulf, US economy and other hot topics.

Following Weekend Update is the "All Pumpkins Anonymous," which is a hilarious skit. It is a parody of typical AA meetings where people share their struggles and try to overcome their addiction. In this case, those addicted are people who are obsessed with pumpkins or pumpkin related items. Ed O'Neill plays the leader of the meeting, who really does not want to be there because he thinks they're nuts.

The final skit is called "An NBA Player's Mystery Can Be Solved," which features the charming Harry Connick Jr. The skit centers around a former NBA player who is trying to solve a mystery of why he suddenly lost his ability to make free throws. Harry is introduced when the former NBA player goes to his music concert.

The episode wraps with a traditional goodbye from the cast and host, thanking the audience for tuning in, and an announcement for the following week's show. Overall, this episode showcases the diverse talents of both Ed O'Neill and Harry Connick Jr, and features an excellent mix of humor and satire that Saturday Night Live is known for.
