Luke Wilson hosts Saturday Night Live with musical guest U2 in season 30 episode 5. The show opens with a political sketch about the Bush administration facing a crisis with Harriet Miers dropping out of the Supreme Court nomination battle, followed by a monologue by Luke Wilson about being the least famous Wilson brother. The first sketch of the night is a parody commercial for the "Narc!" board game in which players act as cops trying to bust drug dealers on the streets. This is followed by a fake advertisement for a CD compilation called "SNL's Greatest Hits: Volume 1."

The first live sketch of the night is called "The O'Reilly Factor" in which Bill O'Reilly (played by Darrell Hammond) interviews Tony Blair (played by Wilson) and confronts him about the war in Iraq. The sketch is filled with plenty of political humor and includes great impressions of both O'Reilly and Blair. There is also a pre-taped segment called "Schweddy Balls" featuring Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon as hosts of NPR's Delicious Dish radio show, which is entirely dedicated to discussing a local baker's famous holiday treat.

Next up is "Deep House Dish," a recurring sketch featuring Kenan Thompson and Maya Rudolph as hosts of a late-night music show. This time they welcome a special guest performer: U2. The band performs "Vertigo" and "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" to great applause. Weekend Update follows, with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler continuing their impressive comic antics reviewing the latest news.

The next live sketch is a spoof commercial for a medication called "Sally O'Malley's Super Seasoned Salt Supplement." Sally O'Malley, played by Molly Shannon, is a long-time popular character on SNL and, in this sketch, she promotes a supplement that adds seasoning to your food and some extra zest to your life. The episode then moves into a skit called "The Ramp" featuring Wilson as a colleague to Fred Armisen's oddball office worker, who insists on performing endless skateboard tricks on a makeshift ramp, causing massive annoyance and mayhem in the office.

The last live sketch of the night is a political spoof of George W. Bush called "Bush Twin Cousins" featuring Jason Sudeikis and Wilson as Bush's strange twin cousins. The cousins regularly barge into the Oval Office with bizarre and strange requests that throw Bush off his guard. The show then closes with U2 performing "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" again.

Overall, this episode is a strong representation of the great humor and satire that Saturday Night Live is well-known for. The combination of great sketches, political commentary, and hilarious guests make this a must-see episode for fans of the show, as well as anyone interested in comedy and social commentary. Luke Wilson and U2 both do a great job in their respective roles and add to the overall enjoyment of the episode.
