Ep 2. The Stakeout

Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza are at Monk's Cafe discussing how they are both single and how they need a woman in their lives. George starts talking about a woman he met, but he can't remember her name or how he met her. Jerry suggests he stakeout her office building to figure out her name. Elaine Benes enters and joins the conversation, revealing that she used to date the man that George is staking out.

Jerry and George begin their stakeout and end up befriending the building's security guard. They make small talk with him and try to pry information out of him about the woman George met. Meanwhile, Elaine visits Jerry's apartment and begins seeing Jerry's neighbor, a man who she calls "the maestro" because of his love for classical music.

As the stakeout continues, George becomes obsessed with finding out the woman's name and starts to neglect his work and personal life. Jerry becomes fed up with the stakeout and tries to convince George to give up, but George is determined to find out the woman's name.

Elaine and the maestro make plans to go to a concert, but Elaine quickly realizes that the maestro is a terrible kisser. She tries to break it off with him, but he insists on seeing her again and asks her to go to a second concert with him. Elaine reluctantly agrees.

George finally gets the woman's name, but he accidentally calls her office one too many times and blows his cover. He calls Jerry in a panic, but Jerry is too preoccupied with trying to impress a woman he met at a hardware store.

The episode ends with Elaine going to the second concert with the maestro and trying to avoid his terrible kissing, George trying to save face after blowing his cover during the stakeout, and Jerry nervously waiting for his date to arrive at his apartment.
