"The Boyfriend (2)" is the 18th episode of the third season of the highly acclaimed comedy television series, Seinfeld. The episode marks the sequel to "The Boyfriend (1)" from the previous episode in the season and features Jerry Seinfeld and Elaine Benes reminiscing about their youth.

The plot centers around Jerry's love interest, Keith Hernandez, who is a retired baseball player. Jerry is thrilled to have befriended Hernandez, and Elaine appears to be quite smitten with the athlete as well. Jerry's new friendship with Hernandez, however, is threatened due to a disagreement over a game-winning home run from the 1986 World Series between the New York Mets and the Boston Red Sox.

Meanwhile, George Constanza has a job interview with Elaine's boss, Mr. Pitt. George is desperate to land a job with the company, and his behavior during the interview is hilariously anxious. Despite Jerry's warnings not to do so, George decides to bring up the fact that he can get a discount on a portable television because his best friend, Jerry, knows the salesman.

The episode boasts excellent writing and clever humor, as is typical of Seinfeld. The audience is treated to excellent physical comedy as well, such as George's discomfort when he tries to take his suit jacket off during the interview, only to get it stuck and stumble through the office. Additionally, the episode features references to real-life baseball history, adding a touch of authenticity to the Seinfeld universe.

Overall, fans of the show will undoubtedly love "The Boyfriend (2)." The episode is a standout among the third season's already impressive lineup and showcases everything that Seinfeld is known for: witty writing, hilarious characters, and a wide array of pop culture references. It's a must-watch for anyone who loves comedy.
