In Sesame Street season 49 episode 30, "Counting Critters," the gang at Sesame Street is on a mission to count as many critters as they can find. It's a day of exploration and adventure as they search high and low to find all sorts of creatures to tally up.
Elmo, Zoe, and Rosita set out early in the morning on a quest to count the birds that live on Sesame Street. They're armed with notebooks and pens, ready to document each bird they come across. They quickly discover that counting birds isn't as easy as they thought it would be, as the birds are constantly flying and moving around. But with a little bit of patience, they're able to get a count of all the different species of birds they find.
Meanwhile, Abby Cadabby teams up with Grover and Cookie Monster to count the different bugs that call Sesame Street home. With magnifying glasses in hand, they set out to find insects of all shapes and sizes. They come across ants, spiders, and even a ladybug. However, counting the bugs proves to be a bit trickier than they anticipated, as they're constantly moving and hiding. Despite the challenges, they're able to get a count of all the bugs they find.
As the day goes on, the Sesame Street gang runs into each other, comparing notes and sharing their counts. They realize that they've counted so many critters that they've lost track of their total count, prompting them to start all over. But they're not discouraged – if anything, the challenge of counting all the critters makes their day even more exciting and rewarding.
Along the way, the gang learns about the different types of critters that live in their neighborhood, from the tiniest ant to the biggest bird. They also learn about the importance of counting, and how it can help them understand the world around them in new ways.
