Ep 7. Loco Parentis

After a week-long hiatus, Sleepy Hollow returned with its seventh episode of season four, titled "Loco Parentis." In this episode, we see Ichabod and Diana, who are still trying to figure out the best way to raise their new ward, Molly, while also dealing with their recently reunited nemesis, Malcolm.

The episode opens with Diana struggling to balance her FBI duties and taking care of a sick Molly. Meanwhile, Ichabod is doing his best to care for the young girl, but realizes that he has no idea how to be a parent, especially to a modern-day child. All of their issues with parenting are put on hold, however, when a new monster appears in Sleepy Hollow.

This time, the monster is a mythical being known as a wendigo - a creature that was said to stalk the forests of Canada and the northern United States. This particular wendigo has been targeting couples who are in love and tearing them apart, quite literally. Ichabod and Diana quickly find themselves on the hunt for this creature, with the help of Jake and Alex.

As they investigate the case, Ichabod and Diana continue to struggle with their new roles as parents. Diana is worried that she isn't doing enough for Molly, while Ichabod feels overwhelmed and out of his depth. Their concerns come to a head when Molly runs away from home and hides in the library.

While they search for Molly, the team also discovers that the wendigo seems to be motivated by love. The creature is targeting couples who are deeply in love and seems to be trying to feed off their affection. This discovery leads them to the conclusion that the wendigo may have been created by a powerful love spell.

Determined to stop the wendigo and its creator, Ichabod and Diana use their newfound knowledge of love to track down the culprit. They eventually find a young woman who has been living alone in the woods for years and using her powerful love magic to create the wendigo in order to deal with the pain of her own lost love.

With the help of the team, Ichabod and Diana are able to stop the wendigo and convince the young woman to abandon her dangerous magic. In the end, Ichabod and Diana reflect on their struggles as new parents and come to the realization that they are a good team that will be able to provide the love and care that Molly needs.

Overall, "Loco Parentis" was a solid episode of Sleepy Hollow that balanced both the action and emotional aspects of the show. While it was great to see Ichabod and Diana continue to navigate their new roles as parents, the episode also provided a fresh take on the supernatural monster of the week trope. The love theme running throughout the episode was a nice touch that added depth to the wendigo storyline.
