Auditions: Los Angeles, Pt. 1 marks the beginning of the tenth season of the hit dance competition show, So You Think You Can Dance. The show kicks off with a bang as hopeful dancers from all over show up to audition for a chance to become America's favorite dancer.

In this episode, we see a range of dance styles, from contemporary to hip hop, and even a few unique styles that defy categorization. As always, the judges are looking for dancers with both technical skill and a unique style that sets them apart from the others.

Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, and guest judge, Christina Applegate, are on hand to offer feedback and make the tough decision of who will make it to the next round. With so much talent to choose from, the judges have their work cut out for them.

One standout audition is from a contemporary dancer named Malece Miller. Malece wows the judges with her fluid movements and emotional performance. Nigel describes her as a "complete dancer," and Mary compliments her on her technique and musicality. Christina is also impressed, saying Malece has "command of the stage" and "dances from the soul." Malece easily earns a ticket to the next round.

Another memorable audition comes from animator, Dorian "Bluprint" Hector. Dorian uses his body to create an illusion of movement, making it seem as though he's controlling a pop-locking robot. The judges are blown away by Dorian's unique style and creativity, with Mary saying she's never seen anything like it before. Nigel jokes that he's never seen anyone dance with "such precision and no nose," in reference to Dorian's masked performance. Christina describes Dorian's audition as "mind-blowing" and says he's a "game-changer." With the judges unanimous in their decision, Dorian moves on to the next round.

But not every audition is a success. One dancer, whose style falls somewhere between hip hop and contemporary, struggles to find her footing in the audition room. Mary says her performance lacked excitement, while Nigel comments that her technique needs work. The dancer is clearly disappointed to hear the judges' critiques, but vows to work on her weaknesses and come back stronger next time.

Overall, Auditions: Los Angeles, Pt. 1 is a promising start to the tenth season of So You Think You Can Dance. With such a diverse range of talent on display, it's clear that the competition will be fierce this year. We can't wait to see what the rest of the auditions have in store.
