Step It Up is a new reality TV series full of pop (and lock and drop). This series follows dance career hopefuls and young talent as they learn the ins-and-outs of Traci Young-Byron's uncompromising demands for excellence. Miami's best dancers struggle through blood, sweat and tears, and push themselves to the max, and learn to work together in order to earn the title of Miami's best dance team. The series showcases a broad variety of dance styles including jazz funk, ballet, modern, contemporary and Broadway. This series takes place at the Young Contemporary Dance Theatre (YCDT), with dance director Traci Young-Byron choosing the best dancers for auditions and preparing the crew for performances. Emotions are high and stakes are higher as these young dancers take the stage and bear it all, compete for prized auditions, and even take to the runway. Each week contestants compete and are thinned out until only one remains who then has the chance to work with the worlds top choreographers and a prize of $100,000.
