Sullivan & Son season 1 episode 8, titled "How Carol Got Her Groove Back," follows the story of Carol, a regular at the bar and a friend of the family who has been going through a tough time lately. In this episode, Carol's husband had just left her for another woman, and she is feeling pretty down about it. To cheer her up, Steve and the gang decide to throw a "Divorce Party" for her at the bar.
However, things don't go exactly as planned when Carol starts hitting on Hank, the bartender. Hank is surprised but flattered by the attention, and the two of them end up spending the night together. The next morning, Carol is feeling great and seems to have her groove back, but Hank is feeling a little bit awkward about the whole situation.
Meanwhile, Steve is trying to impress a girl he likes by pretending to be a hipster. However, things go awry when the girl turns out to be much more interested in his dad, Jack. Jack, on the other hand, is going through his own midlife crisis and is trying to relive his glory days by competing in an arm-wrestling competition at the bar.
As the night goes on, tensions rise when both Hank and Carol start to question whether they have made a mistake by sleeping together. Things come to a head when Carol confronts Hank about his feelings for her, and he admits that he doesn't want to start a relationship with her. Feeling rejected, Carol storms out of the bar, leaving Hank and the gang to pick up the pieces.
Overall, "How Carol Got Her Groove Back" is a funny and heartwarming episode that explores themes of love, loss, and the complexities of romantic relationships. It is an excellent addition to the first season of Sullivan & Son and is sure to leave viewers laughing and feeling good.
