Kara Danvers is having a difficult time understanding why Lena Luthor maintains a friendly relationship with her mother, Lillian Luthor. Kara's reservations about Lena's ties to her family only intensify when a series of murders take place and evidence points directly at Lena. Kara's investigation into the murders lead her to a Luthor-related secret, and she enlists the help of Mon-El, who is still struggling with being honest about his feelings for her. Together, they try to clear Lena's name and uncover the truth about what is really happening in National City. Meanwhile, Alex and Maggie find themselves at odds over the Cadmus issue and their differing opinions on how to handle it. In the midst of their disagreement, a shocking revelation about Maggie's past is revealed. As tensions rise in National City, Kara must navigate her conflicted feelings about Lena Luthor and the possibility that her friend may not be who she thought she was.
