Ep 9. Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One

In "Supergirl" season 5 episode 9, titled "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One," viewers witness the beginning of the highly-anticipated crossover event, "Crisis on Infinite Earths," which brings heroes and villains from different universes together to fight a common enemy. The episode starts with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), aka Green Arrow, showing up in Supergirl's (Melissa Benoist) National City and asking for her help to save the multiverse.

As the two heroes prepare to face the impending crisis, we see glimpses of other Earths being destroyed, and we realize that the stakes are incredibly high. With the help of Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), and Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath), Supergirl and Green Arrow travel to Earth-38 to evacuate as many people as they can before the planet is destroyed.

On Earth-38, they meet up with some old friends, including Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh), Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath), and J'onn J'onzz (David Harewood). They quickly get to work evacuating civilians and trying to figure out a plan to stop the Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) from destroying the multiverse.

As they work to save as many people as they can, the heroes come face to face with the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett), who reveals that the Anti-Monitor is destroying Earths in order to create a new multiverse where he is the only ruler. The Monitor tells our heroes that they must find seven "Paragons" – people who represent the best of humanity – who can stop the Anti-Monitor and save the multiverse.

Thus begins an epic journey through the multiverse, as our heroes travel to different Earths in search of the Paragons. Along the way, they encounter familiar faces, including versions of characters from other DC shows and movies, as well as some unexpected surprises.

As the episode comes to a close, we see the heroes travel to an alternate Earth where they meet the first of the Paragons, who happens to be a familiar face. But as they continue on their quest, they realize that finding the Paragons may be more difficult than they thought, and that the fate of the entire multiverse is at stake.

"Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One" delivers on all fronts, with high-stakes action and emotional character moments. The episode sets up the rest of the crossover event with a sense of urgency, and leaves viewers excited for what's to come. Fans of the "Supergirl" series, as well as other DC shows and movies, will not want to miss this epic event.
