Asuna and Kirito are finally reunited in Alicization Arc of Sword Art Online season 3 episode 17, titled "Truce." The two friends catch up on everything that’s happened since they were last together, reminiscing on their journey that ultimately led to their separation in the first place.
Now that they are both on the same page, they make their way back to Rath Headquarters, hoping to stop the senseless war that is plaguing the Underworld. Once Asuna and Kirito arrive, they are greeted with suspicion and hostility from the Rath team, who believe that they are actually enemies in disguise. Despite the initial tension, Asuna and Kirito manage to convince the Rath team that they have the same goals in mind: to bring peace to the Underworld and protect everyone living within it.
Asuna and Kirito then request access to the Light Cube Cluster, which serves as the key to unlocking the full potential of the Soul Translator. They plan on using this technology to create an artificial fluctlight, one that is based on the fluctlight of Alice's sister Selka. Their intention is to bring Selka's fluctlight back to the real world, where she can be revived as a real human.
With the Cube in hand, Asuna and Kirito quickly make progress towards their goal. They set up a meeting with the Emperor Vecta, the supposed main antagonist in the current war. In reality, Vecta is actually Gabriel Miller, the same person who tried to alter human souls in the previous season. Gabriel is utilizing the Underworld to create his own army, hoping to use them in a larger, more dangerous mission: to bring an entire planet back to life.
Asuna and Kirito confront Gabriel, who responds by challenging them to a one-on-one fight. Gabriel is a formidable opponent, but Asuna’s fighting skills and Kirito's unwavering courage prove to be too much for him. They eventually defeat Gabriel, but their victory is short-lived. The two realize that they have been played: Gabriel was nothing but a decoy, meant to distract them from the bigger, more dangerous enemy at hand.
Their attention now turns to the "Dark Territory," a lawless zone that is controlled by the forces of evil. With the enemy exposed, Asuna and Kirito must prepare for the final war. They must summon all their strength, skills, and courage if they want any hope of victory. The fate of the Underworld rests in their hands; can they save it before it's too late?
As the episode comes to a close, Asuna and Kirito make a solemn vow to keep fighting until they reach their ultimate goal. They have formed new alliances, new friendships, and have rediscovered a powerful resolve that will carry them forward. The future may be uncertain, but they are ready to face it with everything they’ve got. "Truce" is a powerful episode with an intense storyline that sets the stage for the final battles to come in the next episodes.
