As the the nineteenth episode in season one of Tears to Tiara, "Child of the Night" follows the ongoing struggles of the Gaelic people as they face oppression and persecution at the hands of the Empire. Despite their losses, Arawn and his allies refuse to give up the fight, and they begin to gather their strength for the next battle.

As the group begins to plan their next move, they are approached by a young girl named Rathty, who has been orphaned by the war and is forced to live on the streets. Rathty, who possesses an unusual ability to see in the dark, pleads with Arawn and his companions to take her in and protect her from the Empire. Arawn, knowing all too well the cruelty that awaits those who fall into the hands of the imperial soldiers, welcomes Rathty into the fold.

As they make their way to their next destination, the group comes across a village that has been devastated by imperial troops. The villagers are in dire need of food and medicine, and Arawn and his friends decide to help them out. However, their acts of kindness do not go unnoticed by the Empire, and they soon find themselves facing a new threat: a ruthless imperial general who is determined to capture Arawn and his companions at any cost.

With the aid of Rathty's unique abilities, the group is able to evade their pursuers and make their way to a nearby fortress, which they hope will serve as a new base of operations. Along the way, they encounter a mysterious figure named Taliesin, who seems to know more about Arawn's past than he is willing to reveal. As they settle into their new stronghold and prepare for the next battle, Arawn and his companions must also come to terms with the growing sense of uncertainty and doubt that threatens to tear apart the bond that holds them together.
