Ten Days in the Valley is an American television drama series that premiered on ABC on October 1, 2017. The show focuses on Jane Sadler, played by Kyra Sedgwick, a television producer and single mother who is in the process of putting together her new series, "Lost Sheep". Jane's life is turned upside down when her daughter, Lake, goes missing in the middle of the night. A frantic search ensues, with Jane and her ex-husband Tom (played by Kick Gurry) each accusing the other of being responsible for their child's abduction.

As Jane tries to unravel the truth behind her daughter's disappearance, she starts to realize that her show "Lost Sheep" may have played a role in it. A compelling premise that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats, the show takes place over the course of ten days as Jane races against time to find her daughter and figure out who is behind the kidnapping. The series takes place in Los Angeles, and is produced by Tassie Cameron and Marcy Holland, and is directed by Carl Franklin.

The show features an impressive cast of actors, including Kyra Sedgwick, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Erika Christensen, Emily Kinney, Kick Gurry, Ali Liebert, Josh Randall, Francois Battiste and Malcolm-Jamal Warner in recurring roles. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje plays John Bird, a detective who is assigned to Lake's case. He is a reluctant hero, with his own troubled past and personal demons to overcome. Erika Christensen plays Jane's half-sister Ali, who has a complicated relationship with Jane and is determined to help her find Lake. Emily Kinney plays Casey, Lake's babysitter, who has a secret of her own that could be the key to unlocking the mystery.

What sets Ten Days in the Valley apart from other shows in the same genre is the way it explores the complexity of human relationships. The show deals with themes of guilt, betrayal, loss, and redemption in a way that is both heartfelt and nuanced. The writing is intelligent and gripping, with a realistic portrayal of the investigative work of the detectives and the emotional turmoil of the family members involved in the case. The show also uses flashbacks and dream sequences to deepen the characters and give insight into their past and present struggles. The wintery Los Angeles landscape is also captured beautifully, with a subdued color palette that adds to the overall tone of the show.
