"Ancient Inventions" (1998) was a British documentary mini-series presented by Terry Jones, formerly of Monty Python. The show examined great inventions made by ancient civilizations. Each episode covered a different field of endeavor: war, city life, and sex. The "city life" episode covered such developments as restaurants, concrete, fire fighters and skyscrapers. "Sex and Love" discussed such matters as contraception, wigs, tooth brushes, and the history of kissing. "War and Conflict" was unsurprisingly about weapons including the boomerang, gunpowder and Greek fire.
