Lucy and Ricky return from Europe after a 14-month stay and are greeted by their friends and family at the airport. The two are visibly tired and jet-lagged but are thrilled to be back in America. However, they soon realize that their trip has left them with a lot of new possessions and they have to figure out how to make room for everything in their already cramped apartment.
As they start unpacking, they discover that their European shopping spree has left them with more than they bargained for, including a grandfather clock, a harp, and a statue of a nude woman. Lucy decides to hold a yard sale to get rid of some of the excess items, but things quickly spiral out of control when they accidentally sell a valuable vase that belonged to Ricky's mother.
To make matters worse, Lucy's mother-in-law arrives unexpectedly and is furious about the missing vase. Lucy and Ethel scramble to cover up the mistake, leading to a series of comical mishaps and misunderstandings. They even consider buying a replacement vase from a nearby antique store but are shocked by the steep price.
Meanwhile, Ricky prepares for his first big performance since returning from Europe. He is set to star in a new musical but is worried that he doesn't have enough time to rehearse. Lucy offers to help by playing the tambourine in the production, but her lack of musical talent leads to some hilarious moments during rehearsals.
As the opening night approaches, Ricky becomes increasingly stressed and exhausted. He starts to second-guess his decision to return to show business and wishes that he could have stayed in Europe longer. Lucy tries to convince him that they made the right choice by coming home and reminds him of all the wonderful experiences they had on their trip.
In the end, the show is a huge success, and Lucy and Ricky are finally able to relax and enjoy their homecoming. They realize that even though their trip was filled with ups and downs, it brought them closer together and gave them memories that they will cherish for a lifetime.
