In this episode titled "Hedda Hopper's Hollywood" from season 3 of The Beverly Hillbillies, the Clampetts are preparing for their first party in their new Beverly Hills mansion. However, they soon learn that their neighbor, Hedda Hopper, is a well-known gossip columnist who can make or break a celebrity's career with her pen.

Jed and the family are perplexed as to why someone would want to write about what they do in their private lives, and they assume that famous people like Hopper are just nosy. But they soon learn that she has a lot of power in Hollywood and can make a big difference for an up and coming star like their new friend, Marty.

The Clampetts set out to impress Hopper by buying fancy clothes and trying to act more sophisticated, but their efforts only lead to humorous misunderstandings. Meanwhile, Granny is suspicious of Hopper's motives and plots to get revenge on her for what she sees as meddling in the family's affairs.

When the big night arrives, the Clampetts host a lavish party that attracts many of Hollywood's biggest names, including Hopper. The family puts on their best airs and tries to impress her, but they quickly realize that their simple country ways are not so easily disguised.

Throughout the episode, the family learns about the power of the press and how their actions can be scrutinized in the public eye. While they ultimately remain true to their own values and way of life, they gain a new understanding and respect for those who live in the spotlight.

As usual, The Beverly Hillbillies delivers plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments in this episode, as the Clampetts navigate their new life in Beverly Hills with their trademark charm and humor.
