Their fascination turns into horror as they realize that "Fast" Eddie is actually a womanizer and a cheat. Determined to put an end to his dishonesty, Rob and Buddy decide to challenge him to a game, with Rob pretending to be an inexperienced player.
With the help of his experienced and talented wife, Laura, Rob prepares for the game, hoping to expose "Fast" Eddie's tricks and deceit. However, things quickly become more complicated when "Fast" Eddie recognizes Rob from his television show and decides to use his fame to his advantage. He bets Rob $500 that he can't make a specific shot, which Rob initially refuses but ultimately agrees to in an attempt to take down the pool hustler.
As Rob and "Fast" Eddie play, the tension rises and the stakes continue to increase. Laura fears that Rob might be in over his head, but he remains determined to bring down the cheat and refuses to back down. Meanwhile, Buddy has his own scheme in the works, trying to hustle the pool hustler out of some money himself.
As the game continues, the audience is taken on a roller coaster ride of emotions, as both sides pull out all the stops to claim victory. With its witty dialogue and clever plot twists, this episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show is a real treat for fans of classic television.
