Ep 25. Carnival of Thrills - Part 2

Bo and Luke Duke, the two cousins-turned-outlaw drivers, continue their pursuit of Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane and his boss, the corrupt county commissioner Boss Hogg, in season two, episode 25 of The Dukes of Hazzard. In "Carnival of Thrills - Part 2," the second half of a two-part special, the Duke boys must win the "Carnival of Thrills" stunt show in order to save their family farm from foreclosure by Hogg.

The episode starts off with Bo and Luke continuing their death-defying stunts in the Carnival of Thrills competition. They race a car through a fiery hoop, jump over a pool of alligators, and drive blindfolded through a maze of hay bales. Meanwhile, Boss Hogg plots to cheat the Duke boys out of their prize money by paying off the show's promoter, Cletus Hogg (Boss' cousin), to rig the competition against them. But Bo and Luke aren't the only ones in the competition. A mysterious stunt driver, referred to only as "The Driver," also competes and is determined to win at any cost.

As the competition goes on, tension between Bo and Luke builds as they start to suspect that The Driver may be cheating. The two cousins investigate and discover that The Driver is actually a woman named Diane, who is trying to pay off her own debt to Boss Hogg. She admits to cheating and begs Bo and Luke not to turn her in. Meanwhile, Hogg's plan to rig the contest comes to fruition and Bo and Luke lose the final stunt, seemingly ending their chances of saving their farm.

But just when all hope is lost, an unexpected ally comes to their aid. Daisy Duke, Bo and Luke's cousin, takes matters into her own hands and steals the prize money from Boss Hogg's office safe. She delivers it to Bo and Luke just in time for them to pay off their debt and save the farm. In the end, Boss Hogg is left fuming at his defeat, while Bo and Luke celebrate their victory with a joyride through the hills of Hazzard County.

The Dukes of Hazzard has been a beloved TV classic since its debut in 1979, thanks in part to its iconic cars, high-speed chases, and memorable characters. "Carnival of Thrills - Part 2" is no exception, with its heart-pumping stunts, comedic moments, and themes of family loyalty and justice prevailing over corruption. The episode also showcases the talents of the show's lead actors, John Schneider and Tom Wopat, as they navigate dangerous obstacles and showcase their chemistry as onscreen cousins.
